A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR YOURSELF

A GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEA:

I highly recommend that you consider renting or purchasing the Mother Teresa video that is out. Mother Teresa is played by Olivia Hussey -- and it is extremely well done.

I have to tell you that I am now completely UNDONE by it! I feel like I did in 1987 when I watched a documentary about her work that changed my life. Hang onto your hats -- God is up to something in my heart and in our ministry. I'm not sure what it is, but I feel God re-visiting my soul with his broader vision for our work. My prayer is that, if enough of us watch the video, we will all be filled with the same vision that he wants us to see clearly!

Write back if you've seen it or have any other comments about the vision he is instilling in your heart. I would love to hear how the video affected you.
Hugs,
katieb

Hello Katie!
I have not seen the video, but I will.
I do not know what God is doing with the PTPM ministry in my life, but my heart races with excitement every time I am able to work with a woman. I have seen great healing each time God has opened the door to work with someone. (It is only the work of the Holy Spirit, I know that!)
Last night Andrea and I had the last evening in the book study at her church. This morning I have received two emails from women at my table that have moved to new levels in their lives, relationships and walks with the Lord. I couldn't be more blessed.
The struggle to get my ministry going is so great right now and I know that means "Press On to the Goal" Phil.3: 13
Keep me informed...Much love, appreciation and prayers for you and your work.

Katie,
I will go right out and get the movie as Mother Teresa is my hero. My most favorite quote is "Let no one come to you without leaving better and happier". I am just starting out as a life purpose coach but each woman I have had the honor of coaching leaves better and happier (thanks to the work of the Holy Spirit) and I leave better and happier! God is so good all the time.

Debbie,
I rented it from Blockbuster a video store in the states. If you rent it be sure that it's rented for a couple days. The first time I watched it I was just taking in what was happening. After pondering and praying I'm going to watch it again and take notes.

I would be interested to hear why it was this 2003 video suddenly crossed your path?

I told God that if he wanted me to see it I would expect him to put it in front of me easily and hopefully for cheap. I even looked in two stores, just in case. I didn't want to order from Amazon, but it is available there.

As I was out for my walk the Lord impressed on me that I should search my public library. I just did an online search and found my local library carries it, so I have ordered it.

Hi All,

Today is December 11 and I am just now getting back online. I must have been snoozing when the movie or video originally came out -- or that was when I was writing all four books in the Pathway series -- so maybe I only wished I could snooze, huh?! My favorite MT quote is about doing small things with great love. Welcome to our new Life Purpose Coaches and "way to go" - Linda/Andrea! Look for a Ministry Update Email from me within 5-8 days.

My husband and I sat down last night and watched the video. WOW. It impacted us both. What glory it is to invest in the kingdom, the eternal, by spreading joy and hope in the lives of others.
My 2 favorite things, "If God wants it to happen, it will happen. It is as simple as that!"- doesn't that make you just sigh in peace relief!- and "how we might be just 'one' drop in the ocean, but if that one drop was not there, what would not happen because of it." Just imagine how we are all drops in an ocean of God's master ocean. I can only see my shore, and you, yours. WE have no idea of the big plan God has, but as we make drops in His big ocean, by investing in others lives, the beauty is accomplished!
One other thought I had- I am going to use this video as a part of the book study I am going to do on the Pathway series. And then form group discussion questions around the video. I am also using it as a "assignment" during the beginning sessions with my life purpose coaching client.
God bless!

Yes, Debbie, you have got the right video/actress.
I know Blockbuster had it to rent, and pre-views sale at $9.99. Or purchase 4 for $20. So you would then have one for yourself, and could have 3 as great gifts for just $5 each.

I just watched and I'm sure over the next few days parts will penetrate my thinking.

Thanks Lisa for sharing those favorite quotes - as when I heard them I was struck by them also, especially as I was recalled you had shared them.

I am struck by her conviction that she had heard from Jesus directly and pushed through in faith of the vision he had given her.

I am struck with her not getting stuck in organization and advertising, etc. but seeing that some organization is needed for the sake of doing the right thing and keeping God's work moving forward. Her sense of priority - loving and serving others - keeps her motives pure.

I'm struck with her vulnerability in sharing her hurt when the young girl died, saying while she spreads hope and love, she herself is in darkness like a wave that floods over her. That is important especially to those of us who have struggled with doubt, depression and/or thinking we have to have it all together to minister effectively. The proof is in our actions, not necessarily our headspace.

I was touched with the two donations that came from Canada. Was that in your version too? or was that in the Canadian version. It made me think of my tuition for the coaching course as joining ranks. It helped me get the sense of the way this ministry is joining ranks world-wide.

I was also struck by the scene just before her fall off the ladder, where she said those people are looking for love and there was a sense that they could help fill that gap. I sense that women all around that we are called to minister to are also looking for a sister-hood of love and sense of belonging.

It was inspirational that she had larger and larger visions, and the Lord opened the doors all along the way. Reminds me of Katie's vision.

The movie ended and my 14 year old daughter who was watching the last half with us said, "Why isn't there anyone around like her today?"

I said, "Hold on...we're working on it."

Have you asked at your public library?

I want to clarify:

"I would be interested to hear why it was this 2003 video suddenly crossed your path?"

I didn't mean to point out that it was something you could have watched in 2003; what I wanted to point out is that while you could have watched it sooner, you have watched in in God's appointed time. The question I really want to ask is what divine circumstances caused it to cross your pathway now?

I watched it and was touched by all the divine circumstances highlighted in the film.

Hi, not sure what to say here. When the movie first came out, I thought I would like to see this, but never went out of my way to make it happen. Overe the last few months God is taken me on a journey to healing, share at a later time, through this the DVD was brought to my attention and then being ar here is was brought to my attention yet again. So on the look i went to see if I could get it. No one seem sto have it here in Ontario Canada. I really would perfer to buy it as I know with my learning development it will take a few times for the lesson to sink in that God has waiting for me through this movie.

Debbie: Do you ever order online? You can order it from amazon.ca or indigo.ca. In the search bar type in

Olivia Hussey

and you are more likely to have it come up.

I used to live in Ontario, Canada. Please, don't make it sound like the boonies...It is just as current as the US.

Hi dear hearts,

I love your ideas, Lisa, about having the video be part of a Bible Study or Coaching commitment. That's so great. (I echo that for Life Plan Facilitation clients!) If you never did ANYTHING else for any given woman, you would have blessed her with quite a gift!

Why I rented the movie on a Saturday night: I hadn't been to BlockBuster in more than a year -- but when I needed to recover from a speech I had given on Dec 2 to a ballroom filled with women --- I knew I HAD TO "veg out" on the couch and get my strength back for a little bit. This video jumped off the shelves at me -- as one of the few decent flicks in the store that I would care to watch. And, when I thought about how life-changing a documentary on her life had been for me back in 1987. I knew it would be a real treat for me! And...it was -- OBVIOUSLY.

HEY...MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EACH OF YOU. I get to babysit my grandson tonight and start our family celebrations on Friday -- so I'm excited. May God abundantly bless each of you in 2007 -- beyond your wildest imagination. Hugs, katieb

Katie,
As I sit before my screen and look out my window at nearly two feet of freshly fallen snow illuminated by the Christmas lights, I can only wonder what the dawn will bring.
I find it interesting that Olivia Hussey was cast as Mother Teresa; who must be looked at as a devout Catholic where Olivia has a diverse background. Olivia made an interesting comment recently after her return from “oneness training” in India, “What an wonderful world this would be if all people, regardless of religious beliefs or race, could feel this inner calm and come to understand that although we feel that we are different, we are really all the same.” I believe that Olivia was profoundly affected by her portrayal of Mother Teresa. With Olivia, in many ways you see this search; singleness, femininity, the aging process, and a meaning to life. In my studies of Mother Teresa, I found that as a nun she was married to her faith. Mother Teresa boldly adhered to her beliefs, what a statement she made when she spoke before the UN general assembly. As for a Christian Christmas presentation, Mother Teresa’s website is a must stop. It will be interesting to see where Olivia goes with her acting career where in “Tortilla Heaven” she plays the village nudist and in “Three Priests” ?
I wonder how different life would have been for Olivia if she had found it in herself to adhere to God’s edict to have a “help-mate.” I continue to wonder why Christians in particular have allowed the secular society to dictate an acceptance of non-traditional families. Why has it become so difficult for singles to accept, trust, and secure a relationship founded on the marital bound that has been the bedrock of every notable society since the dawn of time. Satisfaction and contentment with the status-quo, fear of change, an unwillingness to alter lifestyle, and a belief that having a help-mate would be a greater hindrance then benefit, all come to mind. What secularism has engendered is sixty-second interpersonal relationships, a recipe for superficiality, and a timidity for meaningful transparent interactions. When we look at Jesus’ ministry we see that nearly all of His most profound teaching were one on one interactions. We have become a society of work-a-holics rather than relationship-a-holics as scripture mandates.
Linda Evans Shepherd places a shadow on Olivia’s singleness by her recent reference of her husband Paul, “My six foot mountain man.” As a Christian, Linda has proclaimed the need for three strands for wholesome marriage. As I recall, Linda has spoken more then once on how their faith has played an important part in her and Paul’s relationship.
In conclusion, I hardily concur with what John Townsend stated, “ You may have more stars in your life that lead you closer to the experience of God and his life. Follow them, as anything he sends us will bring good fruit to our lives and the lives of those around us. God bless you this Christmas season.”

Wanted to share I also just saw "The Nativity". It was so touching and well done. I know it will penetrate my thoughts in the days ahead as the Mother Teresa movie did.

Katie, I know that I bear the same name as your mom and feel honoured by that.

I want to say that I think your mom would continue to be proud of your still strong yet sensitive heart, and the wonderful job you are doing as grandma and ministry leader.

My you feel her love again this season by way of this note.

Hi Katie,
I watched the Mother Teresa video. Hmmmm. I have been praying about whether I should go to Levels 4 and 5 or not. I have been sensing God leading me away from my "day job" (ministry in a church) and into ministry that touches women individually and helps them not to just hear God's word but to live it out - to live life abundantly as Jesus died to give to us. It's a big step and I'm not sure-footed. He has been so faithful to give me hind's feet when needed and to help me keep focused on him. Surrender has been HUGE since I first read about it in Pathway last spring. So I have prayed for guidance as to whether or not to take Levels 4 and 5.
As I watched the video, over and over I caught glimpses of God's vision. The poor and hungry come in different forms. For us, it is women who are stuck and need that smile and joy to help them take their next steps. We are all connected but we are ministering all around the world. God shows up and shares His next steps with us. God's vision gets grander as well as the need to organize more. So much. And the great love for God - just poured out and overflowing - my tears and my heart.
I sense God nudging me to take the next steps to go to Levels 4 and 5 and trust that He will guide and provide.
We are pencils God uses to write His message.
Blessings - Betsy

I've seen a documentary of Mother Teresa's life and I look forward to seeing this video. It goes without saying that her life and her mission are staggering examples of what can happen when we yield ourselves to the power of God to work in our lives.

May God continue to bless you exceedingly and abundantly. Hope to see you soon.
